Using Popularity For Traffic - How To Utilise Consumer Trends

It’s no secret that the press and those that consume it love a naming story. There’s always concentration on celebrity baby names, Elon Musk & Grimes caused quite a ruckus with their striking, somewhat exotic name, X Æ A-Xii. The publicity surrounding these kinds of stories is the perfect basis to build links to drive traffic.

We worked with LoveCrafts, one of the leading crafting communities in the UK. This community would have a whole host of information to play with and create incredible ideas and gripping stories.

We worked for six months, using our PR and SEO tactics we managed to secure hundreds of authoritative links meaning we found the winning formula.

We delved in and sorted through a wealth of customer data, six months to be precise, and managed to compile a list of popular names, ranked by how many times they were used with LoveCrafts during 2020. Data on its own isn’t interesting, it’s often just numbers and facts. Not something people want to read. To make it more interesting we asked members about their personal crafting habits, what works, what doesn’t. With this information, we were able to create a story for release.

What results did we receive? Over 100 pieces of coverage spanning regional and national outlets. All of which had links back to LoveCrafts. This meant an overall DA of 52.

We would love to help your business with a link-building campaign. Let us know and get in touch!
